An entirely off road walk that takes you along the northern tip of Roborough Down and through oak woodland. You will cross the Walkham river by going over Gem Bridge and visit Double Waters a popular and very picturesque area where the river Walkham meets the river Tavy.
In contrast to Walk 7 there is quite a bit of road walking as the West Devon Way now uses the road to get from Walreddon Down to Abbey Bridge. The return from Tavistock takes you past the Pimple and through a tunnel.
Walk 9 also have quite a bit of road walking but this road has grass growing in the middle and you will be very unlucky if you see car for it’s the Old Road to Tavistock. Coming back you will cross over two viaducts and walk under a bridge with amazing brickwork.
